Chapter 1 - The Mud House

Barry and Kathy talk about birthdates, home v. hospital births and their early years in a mud house.

Chapter 2 - On to Washington

DeOrr takes work in Hanford, Washington. Barry and Kathy remember their time riding the train, goldfish in Yakima and a dusty Richland.

Chapter 3 - Back to the Mud House

DeOrr, Verna and their children move back to the mud house in Sandy, Utah.

Chapter 4 - Broken Bones

Barry's friend takes a hatchet to his thumb, resulting in a trip to the hospital. Barry visits the hospital again after unsuccessfully attempting to ride a calf.

Chapter 5 - California Moving

The family moves to several towns in California. Barry attends 5 elementary schools, and a nasty gang terrorizes citizens in San Leandro.
