In this interview Volume 12 of the Sydney 2000-2020 Legacy Interview Project, John O'Sullivan, Program Manager, Operational Integration, Paralympics, and I talk about our partnership in heading the function of "Operational Integration." John covered the Paralympics while I covered the Olympics, but with our team we created one integrated 45-day event:

a) Olympics, 15 September - 1 October 2000
b) Transition operations, 2-17 October 2000
c) Paralympics, 18-29 October 2000

In our humble opinion, Sydney 2000 was the first time that one coordinated team planned and delivered the 45-day event as one.
